THRU is jewelry that reframes skin as conduit rather than barrier. Once placed behind the wearer's ear, THRU pulses electricity through the skin. This completed circuit triggers LEDs that diffuse through the ear's cartilage, making visible the unseen current that powers it all.
The system consists of three WS2812b LEDs, an ATTiny85 microcontroller, and a tiny LiPo battery sandwiched underneath the board. Both the PCB and the enclosure were Othermilled from FR-1 circuitboard. The "bubbled" finish was achieved using a heat gun. Fun fact: the glowing, green pattern is produced by sliding a Gaussian down the ear. Math in action!
