Kit is an attempt to bring the ritual - and physical pain - of addiction to social media. After strapping on a belt tourniquet, users receive prick-like shocks whenever they visit Facebook.
The box is pretty simple, but there's a lot going on between click and shock. A custom Chrome extension fires whenever you visit Facebook. It calls Particle's REST API, which notifies the Photon microcontroller inside the box that it should start shocking, Then, the Photon triggers some MOSFETs to open the giant relay sticking out of the box. Yup, it's entirely redundant, but boy does it look scary. Finally, the relay connects a disposable camera's flash circuit to your arm, delivering a fairly painful jolt.
The enclosure is lasercut Duron, with the laser's raster power cranked all the way up (don't try this at home) to char the lid.
